The Plank Firm Luxe is Brooklyn Bedding's firmest hybrid, and it is the bed we recommend when someone tells us every mattress they have tried lets their back dip. It is flippable: one side is a traditional firm, the other is extra firm and nearly flat. A 6-inch core of individually encased Ascension Firm coils sits between high-density support foams, so you get the firmness of a Plank with the responsiveness and airflow of a hybrid. The American Chiropractic Association endorsed it after a three-month study found it reduced spinal stress and improved lumbar support. if you sleep on your side and need shoulder give, this is not your bed.

Both sides of the Plank Firm Luxe are firm; the flip decides how firm. The firm side rates about 7.5 to 8 out of 10, which feels like a traditional firm mattress with a little contouring from the comfort foam. The extra-firm side rates about 9.5 to 10 and is one of the flattest sleep surfaces available, with more contouring than the all-foam Plank Firm because of the coil core. Back and stomach sleepers, people with lower-back pain, and anyone who has considered sleeping on the floor are the target audience. Couples tend to prefer the Luxe over the all-foam Plank for its motion isolation and responsiveness.

We wanted to test out Helix mattresses after the reviews I read online, and this store is the only one that keeps them out on the floor on the west side of Houston. Saad did a great job of helping my husband and I narrow our choices down. He was very patient and answered all our questions on the differences and the manufacturing process.
