How the BedTech bases differ

Adjustable bases look similar in photos and differ quite a bit in use. The practical questions are these: do you want the foot of the bed to raise as well as the head, do you want to save your favorite positions, and how much do you care about the extras. Every BedTech base here raises the head. Where they separate is what else they do.

The BedTech BTHU is the straightforward one: head-position adjustment only, no foot lift. It is tested to an 850 lb weight capacity at 15,000 cycles, ships UPS-ready in every size except King, and comes in Twin through Cal King. It carries a one-year parts warranty alongside BedTech's 20-year limited warranty. If you mainly want to read or watch television in bed, or you are managing reflux or snoring, this does the job without paying for features you will not use.

Head and foot adjustment

The Adjustable Base X4 and Adjustable Base X5 both add independent head and foot adjustment, which is what you want if you have ever propped pillows under your knees. Raising the foot slightly takes pressure off the lower back in a way head-lift alone cannot. Both assemble tool-free in minutes and are UPS-ready.

Programmable positions and premium features

The BT-series adds wireless remotes with programmable memory positions, so you can return to a saved position at the press of a button rather than nudging the bed into place each night. The BT2000 and BT2500 cover this well. The BT3000 and BT6500 sit at the premium end with the fullest feature sets. If two people want different positions, a split configuration on a king is worth asking about.

Check mattress compatibility first

Not every mattress bends well. Foam and hybrid mattresses generally flex without complaint; older or heavily reinforced innerspring models often do not, and forcing one can damage it. Before ordering, confirm your current mattress is rated for an adjustable base, or plan on replacing both together. Our memory foam mattresses and hybrid mattresses pair well with these bases.
