Why medium suits the most people

Most of us are combination sleepers: we start on one side, roll onto our back, and end up somewhere in between. A medium feel is the only firmness that does a decent job in all three positions. It has enough surface give to work when you are on your side, and enough support underneath that you are not sinking when you roll onto your back.

Medium, medium-soft and medium-firm

• Lean medium-soft if you sleep mostly on your side or you are lighter framed; the comparison worth making is against soft mattresses.
