Performance fabrics or natural fibers

Performance sheet sets from our Bedgear collection are engineered rather than woven traditionally: moisture-moving fibers, stretch that keeps the surface smooth, and covers designed to push heat away instead of holding it. They are the obvious answer for anyone who sleeps hot in a Gulf Coast summer. Natural fibers work differently. Organic cotton percale is a crisp, breathable, hotel-bed weave. Sateen is smoother and drapes heavier. Linen is the most breathable of all and gets better with every wash.

Getting the fit right

Measure the height of your mattress before you buy anything. A 10-inch foam bed and a 16-inch pillow-top hybrid do not take the same fitted sheet, and a shallow pocket on a tall mattress is the single most common complaint we hear about bedding. If you sleep on a split king over an adjustable base, you need two twin XL fitted sheets rather than one king, and a set built for split configurations keeps the sheets from pulling loose every time the head lifts.

Sheets for cribs and kids' rooms

Crib and kid sizes have their own rules: snug fit, no loose fabric, and materials worth washing twice a week. We carry organic cotton sateen and breathable muslin crib sheets alongside performance crib sheets, plus kid-sized percale and sateen sets. What to buy with them

Sheets sit between you and everything else on the bed, so they only work as well as what is under and on top of them. A breathable mattress protector keeps the mattress clean without trapping heat, and the right pillow and pillowcase pairing finishes the setup. Buying two sets of everyday sheets is also worth doing: rotating them doubles how long each set lasts.
