What the positions actually do

• Head elevation of six to nine inches is the standard recommendation for snoring and nighttime reflux, and it is far easier to sleep in than a stack of pillows.
• Leg elevation reduces swelling and takes load off the lumbar spine, which is why it helps people who stand all day.
• Zero gravity puts the torso and legs slightly above the heart, the position NASA identified as the lowest-stress posture for the spine. It is the setting most owners end up using every night.
• Independent split-king sides let two people choose different positions on the same bed, which is the most common reason couples upgrade.

Choosing between the ranges

BedTech covers the practical end. The BT2000 at $799 and BT2500 at $899 give head and foot articulation, USB ports and a wireless remote; the BT6500 at $1,399 adds massage and preset positions. If you want the function without paying for app control, this is the sensible range.

Baselogic sits in the middle, from the Silver at $599 up to the Platinum at $1,099, adding features tier by tier. Tempur-Pedic Ergo is the premium option: the Ergo Power Base at $1,499, the Ergo Smart Base at $1,899, and the ProSmart at $2,399 with automatic snore response that detects snoring and raises the head without waking anyone.

Will your mattress work on one?

Nearly all modern mattresses will. Every all-foam and hybrid bed we sell is designed to flex, so anything from our foam or hybrid ranges pairs without issue. Traditional one-sided innerspring mattresses with a rigid border rod are the exception and should not be forced onto a base. If you are unsure about a mattress you already own, bring the model name in and we will tell you plainly.

If you are replacing the mattress at the same time, it is usually cheaper to buy both together, and luxury mattresses and premium mattresses are where base pairings are most often bundled. Sleeping hot on an adjustable base is a common complaint that has nothing to do with the base itself, so look at cooling mattress upgrades or the cooling mattress range if that applies to you.

Try one in Katy or Richmond

Descriptions of adjustable bases are close to useless. Lie on one, find zero gravity, and you will know within a minute whether it is worth it to you. They are on the floor at our Richmond showroom and Katy showroom, and our delivery team sets the base up and removes the old foundation. Financing is available.
