Serving the Cy-Fair area of northwest Harris County

Mattress Store Near Cy-Fair, TX

Cy-Fair is a name rather than a city. It covers roughly 186 square miles of northwest Harris County, and the name itself comes from the 1930s, when Big Cypress School and Fairbanks High School merged into Cy-Fair High School and gave the Cypress-Fairbanks school district its name. Inside those 186 square miles are the incorporated city of Jersey Village, the Fairbanks section of Houston, old railroad stops like Satsuma, the historic Carverdale community off Tanner Road, and a long run of subdivisions either side of US 290 and Beltway 8.

What Cy-Fair does not have is a mattress showroom where a Certified Sleep Science Coach walks the floor with you. The closest one we run is our Katy showroom on Kingsland Boulevard, 20 to 30 minutes from most Cy-Fair addresses depending on whether you start on the Highway 6 side or over near Jersey Village. Our Richmond showroom is about 35 to 45 minutes south down the Grand Parkway, and our Rosenberg showroom about 40 to 50. All three keep the same hours, carry the same brands and make the same promises, so the nearest one is genuinely the best one to aim for.

One trip is enough to lie on Helix, Brooklyn Bedding, Naturepedic, My Green Mattress, Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, Sealy, WinkBed, Plank, Bear and KOVA side by side, get measured with ScanFit 3D body imaging, and talk firmness, cooling, bedroom size and budget through with a coach before anything is ordered. We are an authorized retailer for every brand we carry, so the full manufacturer warranty applies to whatever goes home with you.

What Cy-Fair shoppers get when they buy from us

Try before you buy

Every mattress on our floor is there to be lain on, in the position you actually sleep in, for as long as you need. Half an hour of driving buys you something no specification sheet can give you: knowing how a bed feels under your own shoulders and hips before you pay for it.

ScanFit 3D body imaging and Certified Sleep Science Coaches

A 3D body scan shows your coach where your frame needs support and where it needs pressure relief, so the shortlist you test is built around you rather than around what is on promotion. Our staff are Certified Sleep Science Coaches with more than 1,000 hours of training behind them.

365-Night Comfort Guarantee

Sleep on your new mattress at home for at least 30 nights, and if the comfort still is not right you can exchange it within 365 nights of delivery for a mattress of equal or greater value. One exchange per customer, and all sales are final.

Delivery across northwest Harris County, financing and price matching

Choose $99 delivery with in-room setup by our own team, who carry the mattress to the room you want it in, or free doorstep delivery through our shipping partner. Financing is available in the showroom, and our 1-Year Price Guarantee runs for a full year after you buy.

Every brand we carry, 20 to 30 minutes from Cy-Fair

All of these are available to try in our showrooms, so one trip lets you compare the names you can only otherwise order online against the brands you already know. We are an authorized retailer for every one of them.

Rows of mattresses on the Mattress On Demand showroom floor in Katy, TX

A region of 186 square miles with no mattress showroom in it

Cy-Fair is unusual among the places we serve because nobody can point to its center. The school district that gives the area its name covers about 186 square miles of northwest Harris County, taking in the city of Jersey Village, the Fairbanks neighborhood inside Houston city limits, and a long list of unincorporated subdivisions between US 290, Beltway 8 and Highway 6. Ask ten people here where they live and you will get ten different answers: a subdivision, a ZIP code, a high school zone, or simply Cy-Fair.

That history is older than the subdivisions suggest. German farming families settled this prairie in the 1840s, the railroad put down shipping points like Satsuma, named for the mandarin orange groves a land company intended to plant there in 1910, and Fairbanks was founded in 1895 beside the same rail line. The name Cy-Fair itself only appeared in the 1930s, when Big Cypress School and Fairbanks High School merged. Houston annexed Fairbanks in 1956, the same year Jersey Village voted to incorporate specifically so it would not be annexed too.

What all that sprawl means in practice is that there is nowhere in Cy-Fair to lie on a mattress with a Certified Sleep Science Coach beside you. There are furniture warehouses along the Northwest Freeway and big-box aisles with a few beds stacked against a wall, which is not the same thing. Our Katy showroom is the nearest place where the whole floor exists to be tested: 20 to 30 minutes from most Cy-Fair addresses, closer to 20 if you come down Highway 6 and nearer 30 from Jersey Village.

If you would rather not arrive and wait, book a showroom appointment before you leave and we will have a coach free and the floor ready when you walk in.

Older bedrooms inside Beltway 8, and the measurements to bring

The eastern half of Cy-Fair is the oldest part of it. Jersey Village was laid out from 1953 and incorporated in 1956. Fairbanks had been annexed into Houston by the same year, and the Northwest Crossing area that grew up around it filled in mostly between the 1970s and the early 2000s, inside Beltway 8 and along the 290 corridor. Carverdale, off Tanner Road, goes back further still: its school began in 1925 in a donated farmhouse.

Bedrooms of that vintage were designed around a queen. Primary bedrooms are often narrower than the ones being built out in the newer parts of the county, secondary bedrooms frequently will not take a king at all, and a 1950s or 1970s staircase tends to have a tight turn at the top that a king mattress does not forgive. None of that is a problem, but it does change the order of the conversation: the honest first question in our showroom is often not which mattress, but which size the room can actually carry.

So bring three numbers with you. The width of the wall the bed sits against, the width of the bedroom doorway, and a rough idea of the stairwell if the bedroom is upstairs. A king gives you more sleeping width than a queen, but it also eats the walking space either side of the bed, and in a 1960s primary bedroom that is the difference between a room you move around and a room you squeeze through.

Those same measurements decide your delivery. $99 delivery with in-room setup means our own team carries the mattress up the stairs and into the room you want it in, which is worth a great deal in a house with a tight landing. Free doorstep delivery through our shipping partner is the sensible choice when the bedroom is on the ground floor and you have help on the day.

Hearthstone, Steeplechase and Lakewood Forest: replacing a bed you have had twenty years

A large slice of Cy-Fair went up between the late 1970s and the 1990s and then stayed put. Hearthstone, the golf-course community in 77095, broke ground in 1977 and was finished in the mid-2000s. Steeplechase, in 77065, is a classic northwest Houston suburb of well-kept single-family homes inside the city limits but zoned to Cy-Fair schools. Lakewood Forest, in 77070, is much the same story a little further east. These are neighborhoods people do not leave, which means a lot of the mattresses in them are far older than their owners realise.

Fifteen or twenty years is long enough that almost everything about the product has changed. Individually wrapped pocketed coils have largely replaced the connected innerspring, which is why somebody getting up at five no longer has to wake the person beside them. Hybrids put a real coil base under foam or latex comfort layers rather than asking foam to do both jobs. Split-head kings let two people share one bed frame while each side moves independently on an adjustable base, which is the single most useful thing to show a couple where one of them reads late or snores.

If it has been that long, do not shop from the brand name you remember. Come and be scanned instead. ScanFit 3D body imaging takes a few minutes and gives your coach something objective to work from, and from there the shortlist is usually three or four beds rather than thirty. Naturepedic is worth asking about specifically if you want a bed that lasts: its customizable organic models let the internal layers be changed later if your needs shift, rather than committing you to one feel for the next two decades.

Bring your partner. A mattress that suits one person and punishes the other is the most common expensive mistake in this category, and it is entirely avoidable by both of you lying down on the same bed for ten minutes.

Early alarms on US 290 and sleeping through a Gulf Coast August

Cy-Fair is commuter country. The Northwest Freeway and Beltway 8 carry a great many people downtown, into the Galleria area or west to the Energy Corridor every morning, and the alarms in these houses go off early. If one of you leaves before six and the other does not, motion transfer stops being a line on a specification sheet and becomes the reason somebody is permanently tired. It takes ten seconds to test properly: lie down, have your partner get up beside you, and feel what reaches you. On individually wrapped coils, very little does.

The other thing worth testing here is heat. A Gulf Coast bedroom does not cool off just because the sun has gone down, and a mattress that holds body heat will surface you at three in the morning no matter where the thermostat is set. Cooling hybrids are built against exactly that, with a breathable cover, phase-change fabric at the surface and a coil base that lets air move instead of trapping it. The difference between one of those and an all-foam bed is something you can feel with the flat of your hand in about thirty seconds on our floor.

Allergies are the third one people raise, and northwest Harris County gives everyone a long pollen season. Certified organic and natural builds use far fewer synthetic materials, and a good protector and encasement do more than most people expect. Naturepedic and My Green Mattress are the two organic lines on our floor, and they are easiest to judge in person because the thing that separates them from a conventional bed is how the surface behaves rather than how it photographs.

Pillows matter more than their price suggests, too. Bedgear pillows come in different lofts, and the right loft depends on your sleeping position and your frame, so our coaches fit the pillow at the same visit as the mattress. A correctly supportive mattress under a pillow that is too tall will still leave your neck aching in the morning.

Cy-Fair mattress shopping questions

Where is the closest mattress store to the Cy-Fair area?

Our Katy showroom on Kingsland Boulevard is the closest Mattress On Demand to Cy-Fair, 20 to 30 minutes from most addresses in the area. Allow closer to 20 minutes if you come down Highway 6, and nearer 30 from Jersey Village or the Beltway 8 end. Our Richmond showroom is about 35 to 45 minutes away and our Rosenberg showroom about 40 to 50. All three carry the same brands, keep the same hours and make the same promises.

Do you have a store in Jersey Village or on the Northwest Freeway?

No. There is no Mattress On Demand showroom inside the Cy-Fair area, which is part of why this page exists: the nearest one is our Katy showroom, a short drive south. We deliver throughout northwest Harris County, so the only trip you need to make is the one to try the mattresses.

Do you deliver to 77040, 77041, 77064, 77065 and 77095?

Yes, the whole Cy-Fair area is in our delivery zone. You can choose $99 delivery with in-room setup by our own team, who bring the mattress to the room you want it in, or free doorstep delivery through our shipping partner. Tell your coach which suits your house when you order and we will schedule it from there.

Can I compare Helix, Naturepedic and Tempur-Pedic in one visit?

Yes, and that is the main reason to make the drive. Every brand we carry is available to try in our showrooms, including brands most people can otherwise only order online, so you can lie on a Helix hybrid, a Naturepedic organic build and a Tempur-Pedic within a few minutes of each other and feel the difference rather than read about it.

I live near Jersey Village. Is it worth driving further to Richmond instead?

Only if you want the widest possible selection in a single visit. Richmond is our main showroom and has the most on the floor, but Katy carries the same brands and makes the same promises and is a good deal closer from every part of Cy-Fair. Most shoppers from this area are better off aiming for Katy.

What happens if the mattress does not feel right once it is in my house?

Our 365-Night Comfort Guarantee covers every mattress we sell. Sleep on it for at least 30 nights so your body can properly adjust, and if the comfort is still wrong you can exchange it within 365 nights of delivery for a mattress of equal or greater value. One exchange per customer, and all sales are final.
