About Value
What you should still insist on at this price
Spending less means choosing carefully rather than accepting less. These are the things worth protecting even on the smallest budget.
- A real support system, whether that is an innerspring unit or a dense foam core. Thin foam over nothing is where cheap mattresses fail.
- Enough height. Anything under eight inches is a temporary bed, fine for a bunk or a guest room but not for someone sleeping on it nightly for years.
- A comfort layer suited to the sleeper's weight. A light teenager and a 220-pound adult need very different things from the same $300.
Where the money goes furthest
For a guest room used a dozen nights a year, the KOVA Basic 7-inch foam mattress at $199 or the Sleepy 8-inch hybrid at $249 are the sensible picks. Nobody sleeping on them twice a year needs more than that. For a child moving out of a toddler bed, the Sleepy Euro-Top 12-inch hybrid at $299 gives enough comfort layer to last them into their teens, and the kids and youth range covers the sizes and heights that suit bunks and trundles.
If someone will be sleeping on the bed every night, the Sleepy Pur-Chill cooling memory foam models between $299 and $499 are the ones to look at. Cooling in a mattress at this price used to be impossible; it is not any more, and it matters in a Texas summer.
The KOVA line explained
KOVA is built for Mattress On Demand, which removes the brand markup that sits inside a comparable national-brand bed. The line runs well past this page: the Milan innerspring at $299, then Copper Lux and Ice-Tex hybrids around $999, up to the Aurora Euro-Top hybrid at $1,499. If a KOVA model on this page feels close but not quite right, the full KOVA collection usually has the same construction with a deeper comfort layer.
Before you decide it has to be this page
It is worth checking current mattress sale pricing and mattresses under $1,000 first, because a discounted bed from a tier up often lands within fifty dollars of a full-price one here. The Clearance Center in Rosenberg is where floor models and one-off closeouts go, and it is the single best place in our three stores to find a good mattress for very little. Our Richmond and Katy showrooms carry this range on the floor, with local delivery and financing available.
