The Original is Bear's medium-firm, all-foam starting point and suits back and stomach sleepers and guest rooms. The Original Hybrid and Pro Hybrid put that comfort layer over a pocketed coil unit for more bounce and a stronger edge, which is the construction we recommend to most combination sleepers; compare them with the rest of our hybrid mattresses. The Pro Foam is the pick for a side sleeper who wants the cradling of an all-foam memory foam mattress with a cooler cover than the Original.

The Elite Hybrid and Elite Ultra Hybrid are the models to try if you have been waking up sore. Both come in soft, medium and firm, pair a cooling-focused comfort layer with responsive coil support that promotes alignment, and belong on the same shortlist as our mattresses for back pain relief. The Natural Latex Hybrid swaps memory foam for latex, which is bouncier, sleeps cooler and keeps you more on top of the bed than in it.

Try it before you buy it

Bear is sold mostly online, so most people have never felt the difference between an Original and an Elite until the box arrives. We keep them on the floor at the Katy showroom and the Richmond showroom on FM 359, where you can lie on each for a few minutes and have a Sleep Coach check your spine alignment. Financing and local delivery are available on every Bear model, and we set it up rather than leaving it in a box at the door.
