About Mattresses

Start with how you sleep

Sleeping position decides more about the right mattress than brand or price does. Side sleepers need the surface to give at the shoulder and hip so the spine stays straight, which is why mattresses built for side sleepers skew softer through the comfort layers. Stomach and back sleepers need the opposite: firmer support that keeps the hips from sinking. If two people share the bed and disagree, mattresses for couples with motion isolation and split-size options are usually the compromise that actually works.

Then match the build to the problem

Once position is settled, the construction does the rest of the work:

  • Waking up sore or stiff points toward mattresses for back pain relief, where zoned support keeps the lumbar curve from collapsing overnight.
  • Waking up hot points toward cooling mattresses with phase-change covers, copper or graphite infusions and breathable coil units.
  • Wanting bounce and airflow with contouring points toward a hybrid mattress, which is the most popular build in all three of our showrooms.
  • Furnishing a kid's room points toward kids and youth mattresses sized and priced for a bed they will outgrow.

Buying locally is the part you cannot get online

A mattress is one of the few purchases where thirty seconds of lying down beats every spec sheet. Our Richmond showroom is the flagship and carries the widest floor selection; the Katy showroom serves Katy, Cinco Ranch and west Houston; and our Rosenberg showroom serves Rosenberg and southern Fort Bend County with the same lineup. All three offer local delivery, old-mattress removal and financing options if you would rather spread the cost out.

If you already know your budget, it is often faster to work backwards from it. Browse current mattress sale pricing or start with mattresses under $1,000 and see what that money buys before you shop by brand.

Questions, answered

How do I know which firmness is right for me?
Firmness follows your sleeping position and body weight more than personal taste. Side sleepers usually need a softer surface that lets the shoulder and hip sink in; back and stomach sleepers need firmer support to keep the spine level. In the showroom a Certified Sleep Science Coach uses ScanFit 3D body imaging to see where you actually need pressure relief, so firmness is chosen from measurements.
What is the difference between a hybrid, an all-foam and an innerspring mattress?
A hybrid puts foam or latex comfort layers over a pocketed coil base, so it supports like a spring mattress and relieves pressure like foam. All-foam models contour most closely and are the quietest for a partner's movement. Innersprings sit higher on bounce and airflow with less close contouring. Hybrids are the most popular build we sell.
Can I try a mattress before I buy it?
Yes. Most models sold here are also set up on the floor in Richmond, Katy or Rosenberg, and we are open seven days a week. Call ahead if you want to be sure a specific model is on display. A Certified Sleep Science Coach can also run a ScanFit 3D body scan to match you by measurement rather than guesswork.
What if the mattress is not right once I have slept on it?
Every mattress comes with our 365-Night Comfort Guarantee. Sleep on it at home for up to a full year, and if you are not satisfied within 365 nights of delivery we exchange it for the right one rather than leaving you stuck with it. It applies whether you buy online or in one of our showrooms.
Which mattress brands do you carry?
Our floors and this page include Helix, Brooklyn Bedding, Naturepedic, Sealy, Stearns & Foster, Tempur-Pedic and Nolah, along with other lines. Because we are an independent retailer rather than a single-brand store, a coach can move you between brands during one visit instead of selling you the only mattress in the building.
What happens if the price drops after I buy?
Our 1-Year Price Guarantee covers it. For 365 days after your purchase, send us an eligible competitor's advertised lower price, or a lower Mattress On Demand advertised price, on the same qualifying item and size. After our team verifies it, we refund the difference.
